In connection with the opening of the Pussy Riot exhibition at Louisiana, this talk brings together artists Ragnar Kjartansson and Ingibjörg Sigurjónsdóttir in a converstaion with Maria Alyokhina of Pussy Riot.
The exhibition Velvet Terrorism – Pussy Riot’s Russia originally came about in Reykjavik in the fall of 2022 – through a collaborative effort between Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina and artists Ragnar Kjartansson and Ingibjörg Sigurjónsdóttir, for the artist-run exhibition venue Kling & Bang. At the same time, preparations for the Kjartansson exhibition Epic Waste of Love and Understanding were taking place at Louisiana.
To mark the opening of the Pussy Riot exhibition at Louisiana a talk on art and poltics with Maria Alyokhina, Pussy Riot, Ragnar Kjartansson, artist and curator and Ingibjörg Sigurjónsdóttir, artist and curator, will be held in the museum Concert Hall.
Tine Colstrup, Louisiana curator of both the Pussy Riot and Ragnar Kjartansson exhibitions, will be moderating the talk held in English.
