Step into a magical world

During the Autumn Holidays the Children’s Wing will be filled with fun activities and special moments to be had with friends and family – all amidst the museum’s beautiful surroundings.

Inside, in the workshops, you can explore a magical, mysterious and surreal universe. Here you can paint your own star sign inspired by the artist Remedios Varo’s enigmatic paintings, or create a skull mask that might belong to a creature from another world.

In the painting workshop, you can let your colours run free and use your brushes like the artist Asger Jorn. In the building workshop, your imagination can grow in every direction as cardboard or LEGO will be transformed into houses, towers, secret rooms and entirely new worlds.

On the Stage, there is plenty of room for dressing up, transformation and play. Who will you be today – a ghost, a star wanderer, a king or a mythical creature?

In the Storytelling Room, you can slow down, find a cosy spot and disappear into the stories found in books.

In the Lake Garden, the campfire will be lit every day at noon, and here the children can make their own twisted bread, while you all enjoy the special autumn colours under the trees. The campfire and twist bread will take place until 16 in the afternook, weather permitting.

In the new exhibition with Remedios Varo, the whole family can embark on a journey into a world inhabited by mysterious figures, strange machines and magical tales. Join our family tours – every day at 14.30 all week.

All holiday activities are free and take place across the three floors of the Children’s Wing and in the Lake Garden. Please note that the campfire and twist bread takes place in the Lake Garden from noon until 16 in the afternoon.
