A high‑energy tribute to the electrifying legacy of Jaco Pastorius, marking what would have been his 75th birthday with a night of boundary‑pushing jazz fusion. Expect explosive takes on Jaco-era material, deep grooves and expansive improvisations that honor his fearless approach to time, tone and melody. Feat. Mike Stern (guitar/US), Felix Pastorius (bass/US), Jacob Hatholt (drums/DK) and Gabor Bolla (sax/HU) + special guest TBA.
Mike Stern – a former member of Jaco’s Word of Mouth band – brings his trademark burning guitar lines and rock‑infused jazz phrasing, echoing the fusion era that Jaco helped define. Jaco’s son, Felix Pastorius, channels the lyrical fretless vocabulary and rhythmic daring of his father while adding his own modern voice on bass, making this celebration uniquely personal. With Danish drummer Jacob Hatholt driving the band and Hungarian saxophonist Gabor Bolla adding fiery, Coltrane‑tinged lines, the ensemble turns Jaco’s revolutionary spirit into a living, breathing, full‑throttle concert experience.
Mike Stern (Guitar, US)
One of the most influential jazz fusion guitarists of his generation. Emerging from the vibrant New York jazz scene, he is known for his unmistakable blend of bebop vocabulary, blues-infused phrasing, and rock-driven intensity. Over a career spanning decades, he has collaborated with icons such as Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Brecker Brothers, and Herbie Hancock, cementing his status as a defining voice in modern jazz guitar.
Gábor Bolla (Saxophone, HU)
Originally from Budapest, Hungary, Gabor Bolla is one of the most significant rising stars of the tenor saxophone. Combining a wide range of traditional as well as progressive influences, he has previously shared stages with jazz luminaries such as Randy Brecker, Gary Peacock, Mike Stern and Mino Cinelu.
Felix Pastorius (Bass, US)
Son of legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius, whose iconic fretless lines defined Joni’s Hejira. Felix carries forward that innovative legacy with his own fluid, melodic style on electric and acoustic bass, performing globally in fusion, jazz, and rock contexts.
Jacob Hatholt (Drums, DK)
Known for his versatility and virtuosity, dynamic drummer Jacob Hatholt brings energy and precision to every performance, delivering the perfect rhythmic foundation across any musical context he chooses to join.
