Three of the world's greatest artists – Mike Stern, Mino Cinelu and François Moutin – on their respective instruments unite for an exclusive one time-only concert in the Concert Hall. With the unorthodox instrumentation of guitar, percussion and acoustic bass, these prior members of groundbreaking bands such as Miles Davis, Weather Report and Herbie Hancock will take us on an eclectic musical journey through jazz, fusion, world music and beyond.
American jazz/fusion guitarist Mike Stern is widely acclaimed as one of the most innovative, influential and original guitarists of his generation. When first exposed to a larger audience as a member of Miles Davis’ celebrated comeback band of the early 1980s, Stern’s personal and refreshing blend of rock, blues and jazz influences didn’t sound like anything anyone had ever heard before.
French/Martinican percussionist Mino Cinelu is arguably the world’s most prominent today. He rose to fame after joining Miles Davis’ band and appearing on the critically acclaimed We Want Miles album from 1982. Subsequently he was in the group Weather Report and has since collaborated with Sting, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Earth, Wind & Fire and many others.
French bassist François Moutin is among the most spectacular virtuosos ever heard on his instrument. After earning a doctorate in physics at age 24 he decided to become a full time musician and joined legendary French pianist Martial Solal’s Trio. Since then, he has toured worldwide with a who’s who in jazz including Peter Erskine, Randy Brecker, Michel Legrand, Niels Lan Doky and many more.
There will be no break during this concert.
Concerts are held with numbered seats, and the doors open 15 minutes before the concert starts – access via the Winter Garden. Seats on the balcony are reserved for wheelchair users and can be booked by phoning +45 49190719.
