About Tracey Emin

Tracey Emin (b. 1963) stands as one of the most significant artists of her generation. For forty years, she has inspired people worldwide with her radically personal and autobiographical works, while also transforming our understanding of what art can be.

The exhibition ‘A Second Life’, now on view at Louisiana, demonstrates that this artist’s work -spanning four decades – cannot be separated from her lived experience. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles, film, and installation, the exhibition unfolds the full story of and with Tracey Emin. It is a life marked by rape, abortion, and severe illness – a life captured in images and driven by a defiant creative force, courage, struggle, despair, and joy.

The exhibition has been created in close collaboration with the artist and Tate Modern, London.
