A summer presentation of works from Louisiana’s collection told the story of how and what we see when looking at art. On show in the West Wing and comprising six themes, this presentation boasted a number of remarkable recent acquisitions by George Condo, Sam Gilliam, Wolfgang Tillmans and David Hockney.
Comprising some 100 works the presentation What Are You Looking At? sought to highlight core aspects of what the Louisiana is about. The six themes touched on e.g. nature, colour strategies, performative aspects and unreality as reality.
Art works were combined in ways that revealed new affinities, while showcasing art practices that have been attracting particular attention in recent years – and with which the museum has engaged through its collection and exhibitions.
In the cinema downstairs one could watch Louisiana Channel films featuring many of the artists on show.
