PLANNING YOUR VISIT

  • Do I need to buy an entrance ticket to visit the café, shop or/and park?

Yes, you will need to buy an entrance ticket or a Louisiana membership if you wish to visit either the museum’s café, shop or Sculpture Park.

  • Do children enjoy free entry?

Children and young adults up to 18 have free entry. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • What payment options are there?

The admissions counter, the café and shop accept a large selection of credit cards and a large selection of different currencies. Please note, that when you pay cash in foreign currency, you will receive Danish Kroner in return.

  • When is the museum most busy?

There are usually not that many guests from late afternoon on weekdays and until the museum closes at 22. This is the time we advise you to visit if you enjoy a calmer atmosphere. Also easier to find a parking space.

Weekends/holidays are often busier, and especially right after a new exhibition has opened or a popular one is soon to close.

  • Is it possible to bring my own food?

If you bring food from outside the museum, you need to eat it in the park – in the Lake Garden by the Children’s Wing you will find a pavillon, where you can sit with your packed lunch. Please note this pavillon is also used for educational purposes at times.

Larger picnic parties in the park unfortunately are not allowed.

  • Can I bring a pram into the galleries?

If you are visiting with a pram or stroller, you can access the museum from the courtyard via the automatic door on the right.

Please note that moving around the museum with a pram may, in some cases, be restricted – particularly during busy periods or in connection with certain exhibitions. To help ensure the best possible experience for all visitors, we recommend bringing a baby carrier or a compact pushchair instead of a pram, where possible.

Pram parking is available, and pushchairs can be borrowed during your visit. These are located on the lower level of the Louisiana Shop, on your left as you exit the lift, which can be entered from the museum foyer. Both pram parking and pushchair loan service operate with a coin deposit and require a refundable deposit of DKK 20.

  • Can I bring my dog or pet?

Animals are not allowed inside the museum or in the park.

Please inform us beforehand of your visit day and hour by writing to mail@louisiana.dk if you are accompanied by an authorized service dog.

Please note that if you have not reported it in advance or have valid identification on your service dog, you may be refused entry to the museum.

While visiting the museum, guests with disabilities or conditions that may not immediately be apparent can wear the Sunflower lanyard if they wish to signal to employees and other guests that they need extra time, patience or help.

The museum's staff is trained to accommodate people wearing the Sunflower lanyard and thus ensure a better and safer visit.
